Detailed Itinerary
Your Journey through the Monte Rosa Massif
Day 1: Breithorn & (Pollux)
Starting in Zermatt, you’ll meet your mountain guide. A quick cable car ride to Klein Matterhorn (3817m) leads to the adventure’s start. The first peak, Breithorn (4164m), awaits! If energy permits, we’ll add Pollux (4092m). Evening relaxation at Rifugio Ayas (3394m).
- Ascent: 480–800m
- Descent: 900–1200m
- Duration: 4–6 hours
Day 2: Castor
Ascend via the Zwillingsjoch to Castor (4223m). Its summit ridge is spectacular but not for the faint-hearted! Descend to Rifugio Sella (3585m) for a comfortable stay.

- Descent: 650m
- Duration: approx. 5.5 hours
Day 3: Naso, Balmenhorn & Vincent Pyramid
The day’s highlight is Naso (4272m) with some secured climbing passages. We also conquer Balmenhorn (4167m) and Vincent Pyramid (4215m). Overnight at Rifugio Mantova (3400m).
- Ascent: 1000m
- Descent: 1190m
- Duration: approx. 6.5 hours
Day 4: Peak Hopping to Rifugio Margherita
Today features four peaks: Corno Nero (4321m), Ludwigshöhe (4341m), Parrotspitze (4432m), and Signalkuppe (4554m) – home to Margherita Hut. The Alpine views reaching into Italy are breathtaking. Don’t forget headache tablets!

- Descent: 270m
- Duration: approx. 6.5 hours
Day 5: Zumsteinspitze & Descent to Zermatt
Zumsteinspitze (4563m) crowns the adventure. Afterwards, descend via the Monte Rosa Hut and take the Gornergrat Railway back to Zermatt.
- Ascent: 500m
- Descent: 2200m
- Duration: approx. 6 hours

- Meeting Point: 09:17 at Zermatt Station
- Extra Costs: Cable car approx. CHF 50.– (with half-fare card)
- Luggage: Secure storage available in Zermatt
- Requirements: Excellent crampon skills, a head for heights, and stamina for up to 7 hours daily

Requirements for Joining the Group
To participate in the Spaghetti Tour, you should meet the following requirements:
- Initial experience with high-altitude hiking
- Sporty endurance – ascents/hikes up to 1500m in altitude are achievable and enjoyable for you
- Regular mountain activities
- Some climbing experience, solid crampon technique on snow, and no fear of heights
Important: If these requirements are not met, the guide reserves the right to send you back to the valley on the first day. Feel free to contact us for personal advice if you are unsure about the requirements.
