In these three days the women show where to go!
Often women can learn and apply better among themselves “without men”. In this way you can grow beyond yourself and increase your self-confidence in a small group with other women

The target of the camp is:

  • Independent tour & freeride descents planning and execution
  • Be self-confident on the road
  • Getting to know like-minded women

That means concretely:

  • Route planning
  • Refresh & construction LVS, probe, shovel
  • Advanced Ski-Skills (Ski technique at your level)
  • Materials science (less is more)
  • Handling rope and hardware for e.g. couloirs
  • Abseiling, Rescue, Improvisation

Technique: solid, downhill-oriented ski technique
Condition
: puff for long descents and motivation for shorter ascents (short is always relative!)

Detailed programme

Day 1

On the first day, the focus will be on prevention, training and further education in the field of snow and avalanches. This is not boring with paper and blocks, however, but outside in exciting terrain and with practice-oriented examples.

Theory block in the morning: (approx. 90min)

  • General avalanche awareness
  • Information Retrieval Snow, Avalanche & Weather
  • Assessment & interpretation of the collected information
  • “Special case” Engelberg Titlis
  • Avalanche bulletin in the freeride area meaningful?

On the way in the field in the morning/afternoon:

  • Observations and meetings in the field
  • Human factor!
  • Comrade rescue LVS, probe, shovel
  • Evaluation & Discussion

Day 2

The second day focuses on your own skiing technique and many meters to ride in good snow!
We work in various workshops on the following topics

-> Ski technology in general

  • Individual position determination
  • Tips & Tricks for DEINER Skitechnik
  • Freeride & freestyle elements in the terrain

-> Ski technique alpine

  • Tactics & Technique Steep terrain
  • Alpine terrain, recognizing Alpine dangers

-> Technique ascent

  • Tactics & Technique Ascent (hairpin bends, foot ascent, climbing etc.)

In the evening we follow another block for serious tour planning.


Day 3

The second day is full of adventure. On a self planned application tour the evening before we are on our way in steep channels and couloirs, learn the correct handling of rope and hardware and deepen our own skiing technique.

  • On the road in the field
  • Training block “Rope and more” based on different situations
    • Abseiling normal & improvised
    • Stand construction in rock, ice and snow
  • Ski skills steep terrain from 40
  • Route planning
