Weissmies
Rewarding two day tour from Engelberg – Lucerne
The 4017 meter high Weissmies can be climbed in two days.
Crossing the summit over the SSO ridge is a very rewarding tour. It includes easy block climbing from the Zwischbergenpass in the second to third difficulty ridge to the pre summit. Then over a short beautiful snow ridge to the summit. The descent takes place over the imposing western flank, characterised by crevasses, to Hohsaas. From there, we take the Hohsaas mountain railway to Saas Grund, which is easy on your knees. From where we return to Lucerne by public transport at about 13 o’clock.
Under the professional guidance of a mountain guide, we accompany you to the summit and back again!

Information and
The tour can be easily reached by train from Lucerne and the surrounding area.
We take the train in Lucerne at 10 am to Visp from there by bus to Saas Almagell where we arrive at 13 pm.
Ascent to the Saas Almageller hut approx. 3 hours. On the night day we start at 5 o’clock the ascent over the SSO ridge to the Weissmies summit.
