Schneestock east ridge

Demanding, combined alpine tour!

On this tour you can apply almost everything that is required of a complete alpinist! The Schneestock is the slightly deeper summit to the right of the Dammastock. The east ridge catches the eye already from the Göscheneralp. The climbing is wild, long and beautiful. Great thing!

Information and

After a short night in the Dammahütte, we climb up the Dammagletscher in the light of our headlights. Through impressive crevasses, accompanied by the first sunlight, you reach the entrance of the Ostrippe. After some easier climbing on the ridge (up to III) it gets steeper and steeper. 1 SL is even a nice 5.

After reaching the summit, we continue climbing over glaciers to Dammastock. From here we descend over the east rib. The tension and difficulties only diminish when you reach the Dammagletscher.

A nice tour for the first day is to cross the Moosstöcke from Dammahütte (3h, approx. 4a)

The tour on the snow stick is not to be underestimated. A fast and solid ascent in the 4th degree in the mountain boots (also possible in climbing finches) is one of the prerequisites. You also have to be prepared for a long day! (Total on summit day and back to Göscheneralp up to 14h on the way). Some stands are partly equipped with borehole hooks. Everything else must be completed by the mountain guide independently.
