Matterhorn via Hörnligrat
The great classic of the Alps
Climbing the Matterhorn is a lifelong dream for many alpinists! The “Horu” continues to impress even after multiple ascents—its view from Zermatt alone is always mesmerizing. And yet, it’s hard to believe that this iconic peak can be reached “relatively easily.”
The climb itself offers everything to make an alpinist’s heart race: incredible rock climbing combined with sections of snow and ice.
Of course, during the high season, it can get quite busy since many share this dream. However, with the right mindset and a bit of humor, this too becomes part of the adventure—and the summit view makes it all worthwhile!
Matterhorn Days with Engelberg Mountain Guide
During the summer high season, we spend 3–4 days at the Hörnli Hut, guiding our guests to the impressive summit and back.
Your advantage:
As a motivated and experienced alpinist, you handle the travel and relatively straightforward hut approach on your own—whether solo, with a colleague, or a partner. This saves us an extra day, making the tour more affordable for you.
We meet at the hut, having already scouted the mountain and its conditions, and brief you on the current situation to ensure you are fully prepared.
