Off-Piste Ski Course
Ride your skis properly and safe.
Can you make the most of an off-piste run? Can you control your skis in tricky situations in difficult conditions?
Solid off-piste skiing is also a safety factor. Falls can lead to injuries and accidents. With the help of video analysis and tips from your mountain guide, you will improve your skiing technique for the upcoming ski and/or freeride tours.
During this course we coach you in the following points:
- Basic positions
- Core movements
- Solid mastery of steep terrain (sliding sideways, assists, putting on skis in steep terrain)
- Pointed turns
- Individual error correction
- Very high percentage of skiing. “Ski more – speak less!”
Prerequisites:
You should have a solid level of on-piste skiing and deep powder experience. The course is designed for freeriders and ski tourers who want to improve their technique. If you have little or no off-piste experience, we recommend a private lesson.

Is the course for snowboarders?
In this course we focus on skiing technique and skiing. For snowboarders we will work on a similar product. Stay tuned :-).
What equipment is required?
In this course you will need skis that are suitable for skiing next to the slopes. If you have skins, bring them.
Is it possible to rent equipment?
We have modern and well-maintained rental equipment for our guests. Just click on what you need when you register.
How can I get there?
The meeting point is in the village of Engelberg at the mountain guide office. I.e. reachable by train in 5min from the station. By car it is best to park in the parking lot in the village near the monastery. From there we go together to the mountain.
What do I need to buy a ticket?
Since we want to use the day as efficiently as possible, we are on the lifts. This way we see a lot of different terrain.
For this we need a ski ticket.
Is the course also available in English?
Yes. All our mountain guides speak English as well.
