Problem-Solving on the Mountain!
It can happen quickly: when pulling the rope, the knot gets stuck, the belay device falls down, or you miss the abseil station and have to climb back up. What to do?
In this course, we will show you techniques to solve common climbing mishaps without worry.

Rescue & Troubleshooting Basics
- Solving rope tangles during abseiling
- Abseiling without a belay device, ATC, etc.
- Missed abseil station (self-rescue or similar)
- Rope extension (blocking knots, prusik knots, etc.)
- Overcoming difficult climbing sections using technical tools (foot slings and other aids)
- The second climber can’t continue; support from above (pulley system or lowering via belay device)
- First aid, improvised transport
Requirements:
- Good physical fitness
- Leading climbs up to grade 5c
- Knowledge of essential knots
- Experience with multi-pitch climbing

- Helmet (climbing or cycling helmet)
- Climbing shoes
- 6 locking carabiners
- 120cm sling
- Suitable clothing
- Sneakers or hiking shoes
- Half-fare or GA travelcard
- Sunglasses & sunscreen
- Lunch for the day
- 50m rope (if available)
- 6 quickdraws (if available)
- Belay device (if available)
- Micro Traxion
